Hope this finds you well and safe. Amazingly, our 55th Reunion, May 20 to 23, 2027, is within sight. Of course Reunion plans are in place, but the key ingredient is you. So, hope you have those dates marked on your calendar, and starting to plan your trip back to “Old Nassau”.  You’ll hear about all Reunion plans in much more detail from our great Reunion team of Fritz Cammerzell and Jim Robinson. They’ve planned a fantastic Reunion.

In preparing for our 55th, and to get us thinking about our wonderful class, we are announcing our 55th Reunion Speakers’ Program.  This is a seven part series of fun, interesting, and even educational programs by and for our Class.  Starting on December 6, 2026, we’ll have a program featuring speakers on a range of topics, even some international classmates “looking in” to share what is happening in their part of the world.

Just like our May 20 to 23, 2027 Reunion, the key ingredient to these programs is you. Each program will be approximately 60 minutes, via Zoom, and occur on a series of Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm US Eastern Time.  Here are the key dates to mark on your calendar:

• April 18
• May 16

We also created a special, and easy to remember, Zoom link to connect to all the programs: tiger1972.com. We’ll also have time during the session for LIVE questions and answers with our great speakers.

Our December 6 program features a Pre-Holiday special - James Penca from the “Witness Titanic” YouTube Podcast series. This remarkable series uses the actual testimonies from the United States and British inquiries to tell the personal survivor stories in their own words, and literally weeks after the disaster. James will share some of his stunning discoveries from this series. You can currently view each “Witness Titanic” episode on YouTube.

To whet your appetite, our January 10, 2027 program features Ms. Juliana Ochs Dwek, Chief Curator of the remarkable new Princeton Art Museum.  So please mark your calendars now!

This updates 1972 Speakers’ Program leading to our 55th Reunion.

Goal: Record 1972 Class Reunion attendance, May, 2027.

Objective: Record percentage and absolute number attending 55th Reunion.

Strategy: Broad - frequent outreach, engaging entire Class, promoting Reunion interest and attendance.

Tactics: Six programs leading to 2027 Reunion. Topics relevant to classmates. Presenters are classmates or classmate recommended subject matter experts.

Detailed Discussion:

1. Program Structure: Six 60 minute programs featuring 1972 Class Member(s)/Member sponsored speakers. Broad interest topics. Each program 45 minute presentation with additional 15 minutes for Questions - Answers, Reunion news - update. 
2. Program Delivery: Sundays, 3 to 4 pm Eastern. Powerpoint presentations delivered via Zoom. Presenters are “live”. Powerpoint includes relevant graphics, photos, maps, etc. to increase audience engagement.  Presenter “drives” presentation - advance slides.  Each program introduced by Executive Committee sponsor/Class President Dr. Schneider. Rod McNealy Program “Master of Ceremonies”.
3. Program Dates: January 10, 2027; January 31, February 21, March 14, April 18, May 16.
4. Technical Support: Programs have technical support and presenters have opportunity to “rehearse” in advance. Technical Support monitors “chat”/questions - alerts speaker as needed. Importantly, all presenters must be fully Powerpoint - Zoom “conversant” and create their program content. Technical support must be hired.
5. Topics:
   1. James Penca: Podcaster, Witness Titanic. Ten Items That Will Surprise You. Confirmed, December 6, 2026.
   2. Princeton Univ. Art Museum: Ms. Juliana Ochs Dweck, Chief Curator, Princeton Art Museum. Topics - funding, building, collecting, collection highlights. Confirmed for January 10, 2027.
   3. Local “Look-In”: Carol Rahn '72, Jerri Donovan ‘72 share news, updates from England, Japan.  What is new, changing, worth noting, etc. Confirmed for January 31.
   4. Retirement Housing & Our Future: Bill McMorran ’72 examines housing options that meet our health access, sociability, and community needs. Bill is a nationally recognized expert in retirement housing, long-term care planning. Confirmed for February 21.
   5. Professor Sean Wilentz H’72,H’00: Latest course, historical topic(s), etc. Professor Wilentz honorary classmate.  Confirmed, Date to be determined.
   6. Artificial Intelligence and 1972: AI impact on practical life - medicine, industry, etc. Practical, realistic applications that impact classmates. Mary Czarnecki ’00 Confirmed.
   7. Princeton Dining Clubs History: Author Clifford Zink shares a detailed history of the Princeton Dining Clubs, based on his “coffee table” book on the topic. Confirmed for May 16.

Next Steps:

1. 55th Reunion Alum - Faculty Fora Interface: 1972 participation in University sponsored Reunion Alum - Faculty Fora limited. University seeking broad presenter diversity by University Class, Race, Gender. 1972 only two presenters in 2022, versus 13 at our 45th. Seven forum topics were submitted on July 4, 2026.
