Opening Exercises
The University marks the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year with Opening Exercises for the Class of 2030. The annual interfaith service includes an address by President Christopher L. Eisgruber ‘83 and the recognition of the academic achievements of undergraduate students.
First-year students will line up on Cannon Green with classmates in their residential college and march through the FitzRandolph Gate, onto Front Campus, officially entering campus to start their undergraduate experience. They will be joined by trustees, faculty, and administrators who march in academic regalia. Following the ceremony, first-year students will exit Front Campus and head toward the historic Cannon Green for a Pre-rade, where they will be greeted along the path by fellow Princetonians.
