50th Reunion Registration

Registrants as of 5/16/22

Reunion Schedule

Our 50th Reunion (yipes) will be held from May 19 to May 22, 2022.  More than 300 Classmates have already registered for the Reunion.  We will also be joined by the Satellite Classes of 1970, 1971, 1973 and 1974. This year our headquarters will be in Blair-Campbell Courtyard.

Registration details:  We will be conducting Registration on the University’s new Reunion IQ system.  Reunion IQ requires the use of your Tigernet ID and Password which is different from your Class website ID and Password.  If you don’t have a Tigernet ID and password, or have forgotten it, use this link  to obtain a new ID and Password.  If you have a valid password, you can go directly to Reunion IQ through this link. If you are tech challenged, please contact Fritz (609-683-0066) to obtain a printed registration form.

Our registration fees are:  Classmate $600 (Saturday only fee $350); Spouse/guest $600 (Saturday only fee $350); Children under 18(each) $100 (Saturday only fee $50).

We realize that these fees are not insubstantial, but you do get a lot of value.  The fee includes meals, beverages, costumes, entertainment, staff, etc., etc., etc.  Reunion budgets have risen over the last 15 years, but we are trying to keep our costs at the low end of those budgets.  Our budget for the 50th totals over $200,000 for the weekend.  Most of the costs of the Reunion are fixed.  The tents and fences must be erected, costumes ordered and meals committed to well in advance.  Headquarters and general operations represent 20% of the budget, food 40% and clothing 20%.  The balance of the budget consists of beverages (3%) and entertainment.  Fixed costs represent over 90% of the total.  Rest assured that we  have tried to squeeze every ounce of fat out of our numbers.

1.Costume.   If you did not order a new blazer, please remember to bring your original 25th Reunion blazer with you to our 50th.  We will augment the blazer with a shirt and other paraphernalia.  You can also expect hats, tote bags and distinctive t-shirts for the children.

Reunions are mostly casual, but we do request that you wear the full uniform in the P-Rade and that you wear our Reunion jacket to the Class Memorial Service, Meeting and Class Dinner on Friday evening.

2.Housing.  As always, on campus housing will be in great demand and short supply.  The University has been assigning more dorm space to the larger, younger classes so our limited space has become even more limited.   Having said that however, the University has assigned us the following beds:

2a. On campus - We have been assigned 80 beds.  We do not know where those beds will be located, however, it seems likely that they will be in, or near the Reunion site.  The charge for these beds will be $150.00 for 3 nights.

A linen packet is also available for $25.00 per bed.

2b. Princeton Theological Seminary – We have been assigned 48 beds at the Seminary.  These are all single room beds.  The charge for 3 nights is $200.00 per bed.  Linen service is included.  Also, a reserve parking space is available for each bed.

Beds on campus and at the Seminary will be assigned on a first come, first served basis, so it is imperative that you complete and file your registration information as soon as possible.  At this point, given what we expect to be very high demand, we are limiting the number of beds available to a classmate to 2 beds.  If demand is not as great as we expect, you can expect further guidance from us regarding bed availability.

Schedule.  Our 50th Reunion will officially begin at noon on Thursday, May 19, 2022.  Thursday’s dinner will be onsite.  It will be a casual buffet followed by coffee and other after dinner drinks as well as light music conducive to conversation.  Our Class Meeting and Memorial Service will be held on Friday afternoon in Alexander Hall.  Our traditional Class Dinner will follow, in the large tent immediately behind Alexander Hall.  Saturday will be a family day highlighted by the P-Rade and an informal buffet dinner at the site prior to the annual fireworks display.  A tentative schedule follows.

Activities.   Rod McNealy is working closely with the University to include Classmates on various panels and forums during the Reunion.  Further details will be provided when they are available.  We will also offer campus and tree tours during our 50th, but mostly we want to provide downtime for Classmates to catch up with each other.

Entertainment.   Rest assured that there will be great dance music for those of us who are still capable.  As indicated earlier, Thursday night will offer low-key café style entertainment.  For Friday we have booked the Mighty Spectrum and for Saturday night, the Sensational Soul Cruisers, who have played for us several times.

Class Book.  The Class Book, under the expert leadership of Merc Morris and Ed Strauss. has been put to bed and will be available at the Reunion.

Golf Carts.    If you need a golf cart for the weekend, or just for the P-rade, you must reserve the cart online from the University.  We will supply further information when we receive it.  It will be  “first come, first served”.  We have no control over the allocation of golf carts.

Covid.  In order to register you will need to comply with University protocols.  This will include some form of vaccine attestation .  More information will follow.

If you have any questions, or suggestions, please call Fritz at 609-683-0066 (office) or Robby at 917-502-9114 (cell).
