Tigernet ID and Password

Classmates will be required to use the University's Tigernet service to register for our 50th Reunion beginning in January 2022. In order to register, you will need to have a Tigernet ID and password. If you have an active Tigernet account and know your ID and password, no action is required. Please note that Tigernet runs on a different system from our class website and, as such, will have different ID's and Passwords (unless you make them identical.)

Tigernet has 3 links to address the following situations:

1. You have never registered for Tigernet. The system will let you register now. If you just forgot that you registered many years ago, the system will retrieve your old ID and prompt you to generate a new password
2. You don't remember your Tigernet ID. The system will RETRIEVE your old ID and provide it to you. The system will prompt you to generate a new password.
3. You only want to change an old PASSWORD. The system will let you generate a new password but you'll need the old password.

Tigernet ID/Password

Tigernet ID's, passwords and passphrases (only for new registrations) have a number of restrictions shown below. (Older passwords from before the security era are grandfathered and not subject to restrictions.)

TIGERNET ID:

Minimum of 2 characters and a maximum of 15
First character should be alphabetic
Remaining characters can be alphanumeric
Following symbols may also be used in the NetIDs (must not be the first or last character of a NetId): . _ + -
Cannot be an ID already in use

PASSWORD:

contains at least 10 characters, and a maximum of 15 characters
contains both upper and lower case characters
contains at least one number
contains at least one of the following characters:
~!@#$%^&*()_+={}[]|:;"<>,.?
must not contain your first name, last name or NetID
a new password must be new. An error will be generated if you use an old password.

PASSPHRASE:

contains at least 15 characters consisting of letters and spaces
contains at least 1 number OR 1 symbol
must not contain your first name, last name or NetID
